Pro-Vigil Taps into Google Cloud’s Power
Pro-Vigil uses the cloud extensively to store and process video, including Google Cloud. By working in a Google Cloud environment to train our AI, we’re able to store significant amounts of video, scale to handle spikes in workloads, and achieve expected cost savings.
Our Chief Technology Officer Satish Raj recently spoke at Google Cloud Next 2025 where Pro-Vigil was touted as a ‘changemaker’ for our innovative use of AI in physical security. At the event, Raj discussed how his team uses Google Cloud to build solutions that help prevent theft and vandalism at customer sites. Every piece of video we record provides a wealth of data that can help train our AI and make it more accurate over time. For example, helping the AI learn what’s an animal and what’s a human. Currently, we use proprietary models to train our AI. As more advanced models become available in the future, our work with Google Cloud will allow us to tap into more powerful models seamlessly.
Using Google Cloud’s cloud infrastructure, Satish and his engineering team have built AI solutions allowing Pro-Vigil to:
- Recognize objects and behavior – Training our AI models with the vast amount of footage stored in Google Cloud allows the solution to “learn” and get better at identifying suspicious activity, filtering out false alarms and eliminating a highly manual process.
- Automate incident descriptions – Using Google Cloud’s AI, we have built a tool which automates the process of viewing incident footage after the fact and generating a written description of what type of event occurred and the action taken.
- Threat forecasting – Soon, Pro-Vigil plans to use Google Cloud’s AI to evolve our solutions from proactive, to predictive. Eventually we’ll be able to use historic site data to create prediction models and escalate threats during specific timeframes to catch thieves before they strike.
